Frequently Asked Questions

How long are sessions?

A typical individual session and couples counseling session are 50 minutes long. We also offer intensive sessions that range up to 3 hours.

What should I expect during my first therapy session?

During your first therapy session, we'll discuss your reasons for seeking therapy and any specific concerns or goals you have. This session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other, explore your history, and establish a comfortable, supportive environment. We'll also talk about what you hope to achieve in therapy and how we can work together to meet your needs.

Sessions may look different for different people. Please let us know if you prefer more/less structure or a specific method of therapeutic intervention. If you are unsure, we will help you figure out what may work best for you!

What are the benefits of paying out-of-pocket?

Paying out-of-pocket offers several benefits, including increased privacy and confidentiality since your therapy records are not shared with insurance companies. Additionally, it allows for greater flexibility in the length and frequency of sessions, ensuring that your treatment plan is entirely customized to your needs without external limitations.

Can I get reimbursed by my insurance company?

We do not accept insurance, but many clients are able to seek potential reimbursement for therapy services through their out-of-network benefits. We can provide you with a detailed invoice, also known as a superbill, which you can submit to your insurance company. We recommend contacting your insurer beforehand to understand your reimbursement policies.

Can I use my HSA/FSA card?

Yes! You can use your HSA/FSA card. You would upload it as you would a regular credit or debit card on the portal!
